Open SPMA Board Positions (2025-26)
Events Co-Chairs (1 x Regina, 1 x Saskatoon)
Time:
-
- 1 year term (July 1 – June 30)
- 6-8 hours per month, with greater time commitment surrounding events
- SPMA Board meetings (monthly as scheduled)
- Events Committee meetings (as needed)
- Membership programs and events (as needed)
- FUZE Conference (1 day)
- Exceptional organizational, time-management, and project management skills
- Able to perform and problem solve in high stress, dynamic and changing situations
- Detail oriented with strong attention to effective task completion
- Positive and professional attitude and able to work as a team player
- Plan and execute all SPMA events (monthly events, in-person or virtual, and more)
- Attend and participate in events (only if located in city of event)
- Lead a brainstorming session at the first Board meeting of the year (and continuously throughout year as needed) to focus on speaker suggestions, topics, and goals for events with Board members
- Oversee and execute all event preparation, registration, speakers, logistics (including meals, venue, A/V, etc), set up and tear down
- Create and submit budgets to the Board for each event, develop comprehensive event logistics and production plans
- Develop planning tools (production schedules, budget tracking, time lines, event specs etc)
- Review and participate in the negotiation of vendor and supplier contracts
- Prepare post event evaluations and summaries; focus on efficiency and ROI of event execution
- Report on upcoming events including registration numbers and speakers at each Board meeting
- Coordinate complimentary tickets into the registration system (for Board members, speakers, sponsors, and more if applicable as needed)
- Work with communications team in the initial set up of the event promotions and registration by providing a complete event brief document detailing all details of the event
- Create a summary of events at the end of the year, including attendance numbers and budget results
- Socialize at events, and be the SPMA liaison with the speakers, ensuring they have everything they need to feel comfortable and to execute
- Work closely with the Sponsorship Chair to fulfill sponsorship commitments for events including but limited to complimentary tickets, sponsor speakers, logos added to PowerPoint presentations and other signage, coordinating promotional materials available on-site, etc.
- Support FUZE Chair in planning/execution of FUZE Conference
Sponsorship Chair
Time:
- 1 year term (July 1 – June 30)
- 6 hours per month, with greater time commitment surrounding events
- SPMA board meetings (monthly)
- Events Committee meetings (as needed)
- FUZE Conference (1 day)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Organizational skills

- Budget experience
- Sales experience would be an asset
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and increase sponsorship commitment with existing sponsors for both SPMA events, FUZE conference, Marketing Directory listing
- Identify sponsorship prospects that are a strategic fit for the association, and provide them with information on SPMA/FUZE/Directory and the benefits of sponsorship
- Update and finalize SPMA/FUZE sponsorship package for the year
- Coordinate execution of sponsorship package by communicating directly with sponsors
- Prepare and issue sponsorship contracts, including in-kind, and ensure invoicing is accurate and timely
- Ensure sponsorships meet yearly budget requirements
- Work closely with Communications and Events Chairs to coordinate sponsorship recognition and fulfillment including logo usage (Communications), and event recognition (Events)
- Work closely with FUZE Chair to ensure sponsorship budget is continuously updated and in-kind needs are sourced where applicable
Communications Co-Chairs (x 2)
Time:
- 1 year term (July 1 – June 30)
- 4 hours per month, with greater time commitment surrounding events

- Branding and basic design experience, including experience with Canva, and email marketing management systems (MailChimp)
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordination of communication activities including execution and/or recruitment of volunteers
- Branding: Coordination, development, and ongoing enforcement of association’s brand message to ensure consistency with members
- Publicity: Work with officers and other chairs to ensure publicity requests, meetings and important dates are submitted and conveyed in a timely fashion to members
- Post content on each of the social media platforms – LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook
- Encourage board to help with content creation
- Communication: depending on activity level, you may need to breakdown responsibilities into subcategories such as: Website Maintenance & Updates (including events, sponsors, and marketing directory), Content Writing & Scheduling – coordinate email, social, and web content including event promotions, Find a Job Friday emails, and membership drives and promotions, Social Media, Photography
- Support SPMA events and programs throughout the year
- Support FUZE Chair in planning/execution of FUZE Conference
Vice President
Time:
- 1 year term (July 1 – June 30), with intent to stay on longer-term
- 4 hours per month, with greater time commitment surrounding events
- SPMA Board meetings (monthly as scheduled)
