  • Beers with Peers: Brand Spotlight featuring iQmetrix

     FB_Event_graphic_-_small.jpg

Creating Great Experiences: How iQmetrix is taking their local brand to the global stage

The SPMA is excited to host Scott McGillivray, Chief Strategy Officer with iQmetrix, to find how they have taken their local brand to the global stage.

According to the team at iQmetrix, "The root of what makes a successful retailer or brand has been, and will always be, the customer experience." iQmetrix’s passion for retail and creating great experiences for retailers, their employees and the end consumers has helped the company take that expertise and expand it into new markets and new products.

Scott doles out the company’s marketing, culture, and development strategy in between giving the types of motivational speeches usually reserved for the locker room scenes of the best Hollywood sports movies. Scott brings years of marketing experience to iQmetrix and always strives to keep on top of the latest trends. (He even has a Pinterest board – or “Pininterest” as he would say – but the closest he’s come to completing a craft is the beer he drinks…) Scott has a passion for the creative side of the business and has a keen sense of how to build teams of people you’re excited to come to work with every day. Before joining iQmetrix, Scott was an award-winning business prof at his alma mater, the University of Regina.

    Registration: 5:30 pm
    Networking: 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
    Presentation: 6:35 p.m.

    Web_poster_2.jpg

The SPMA is proud to welcome Mark Watson, V.P. of Marketing with Great Western Brewing to our
Saskatchewan Brand Spotlight event February 8, 2017 at Crave Kitchen & Wine Bar.

Mark is a consumer insight expert having worked on both the client and agency side of the food and beverage industry. With over 20 years of diverse marketing experience, Mark will share lessons learned during competing in the most cut-throat marketing categories in the world.

Born and raised in Toronto, which explains why he struggles saying “Sask-atch-e-wan”, Mark moved his family west to begin a new chapter as the Vice President of Marketing for Great Western Brewing in 2014.  He enjoys cottage life, the mountains and is a regular at his local spinning club. While in the beer industry, the portfolio of products that he marketed represented some of Canada’s biggest and recognizable beer brands including Labatt Blue, Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, Labatt Genuine Draft and Lucky.

Mark changed gears in 2006 and decided to enter the world of client service as consultant at Sklar Wilton & Associates, a leading Canadian marketing advisory firm in Toronto.  With a focus on clarity, he provided strategic advisory to help solve business challenges to the following Canadian companies: Heinz Canada, Molson Coors, Mars Confectionery and Mackenzie Investments.

Please join us and welcome Mark to Regina, for a fun and interesting session including a tasting of Original 16, the number one premium beer in Saskatchewan with over 2,000 taps spanning across Western Canada.

You'll also have a chance to network with marketing, advertising and communications professionals from across South Saskatchewan!

Tickets include a pint of beer, a cocktail or wine, along with a selection of appetizers.

  • How To Be A Creative Hustler with Mes Amis Studios

Tammy and Jocelyn met only two short years ago and instantly connected with photography and family life. They continually inspire each other, finish each others sentences and with an ‘idea a minute’ they quickly turned their friendship into Mes Amis Studios - a brand new Saskatoon-based photography business.

Both Tammy and Joc run their own successful businesses, Boehmer Photography and deMo Photography. This new collaboration has taught them not only to work as a team, but ‘if you can dream it, you can make it happen’. Neither are afraid of hard work but balance has been a learning curve as they build new businesses together.

Join us for lunch on Wednesday, March 9 at the Saskatoon Club to hear more about Tammy and Jocelyn's story of personal brand management and creative thinking. They will share their insight on how to utilize photography in order to strengthen your brand, define work-life balance as entrepreneurs, and share their newest venture Creative Hustle.

  • AGM Birthday Extravaganza!

Join us August 27th for Thriving in the Expression Economy with Ron Tite.

Low production costs, easy distribution and suddenly, everyone’s a creator. Consumers can now fill their day with content dedicated to their hobbies, passions and the things that interest them most.

    For marketers, that’s a problem.

See, consumers used to vote with their wallets. Now they vote with their time. And you know who’s winning the battle for time? Other consumers. Yup. Right now, consumers are more creative than you are. They’re also more innovative and authentic than you are. In the battle for time, your competition isn’t the category leader. It’s the consumer.

Welcome to the Expression Economy. To succeed, organizational brands and the personal brands of the people who work in them have to be completely aligned. This humourous and insightful presentation helps organizations and more importantly, the individuals within them, win time. We’ll cover organizational and personal creativity, and innovation by examining what great global, national, and local brands are doing and how individuals can mimic their behaviour.

    About Ron Tite

Named one of the “Top 10 Creative Canadians” by Marketing magazine, Ron Tite is an award-winning advertising writer, chief executive officer, and creative director. Ron has created advertising campaigns for clients including Air France, Evian, Kraft, Intel, Microsoft, Volvo, and many others. His work has been recognized by The London International Advertising Awards, The New York Festivals of Advertising, The Crystals, The Extras, The Canadian Marketing Association, The Marketing Awards and others.

Currently, he is CEO of The Tite Group, a content marketing agency based in Toronto. He has also written for a number of television series, penned a children’s book, and wrote, performed, and produced the play, The Canadian Baby Bonus. Ron’s first book, Everyone’s An Artist (Or At Least They Should Be), will be published by HarperCollins in spring, 2015.
